I had a heat ring on my granite countertop from a very hot pan I was frying oil in. I tried everything from creams to, poltice pastes, sealers to toners. The only thing to do was to refinish the area. This kit removed the damage and brought to a decent polish. I ended up needing to remove quite a bit of stone as the damage penetration was deep but now the ring is gone and only a slight unleveling of the countertop is there. I wasn't able to get it to a perfect shine but I am getting a polishing kit to finish the job. This removed the eye sore that has been plaguing me for the past year. Thanks for making an affordable option for at home repairs. The diamond wheels look barley used afterwards, the whole process was done with water and patience. It took me 3 hours to get it to this point in the final picture. I watched countless hours of YouTube videos on stone polishing for tips and technique. I will definitely use this kit to keep my countertop looking new going forward. I purchased a granite mb-20 polishing kit for the final process.
Marble is relatively soft. As a result, this product works pretty well for polishing marble and removing stains and calcium deposits. I worked my way through all the grits, which requires patience. The initial round of use resulted in decent, if not perfect results. I plan to work my way through the grits (50 to 3,000) on a second try, with an intention to spend more time on each "pass". I suspect it will also work well on harder stone, such as granite, although be prepared to spend even more time polishing with each advance in grit. I recommend wet polishing only. My guess is that dry polishing will significantly restrict usage. (I used a sprayer filled with water, spraying to wet the area, followed by using a random oscillating electric tool.) It would work with a drill, albeit not as well.
My wife and I poured our concrete countertops a few years back when we moved in and didn't take as much time as we should've and since then, they have become a bit roughed up and had some unsightly marks/stains on them. We used these this past weekend to refinish the surface starting with the lowest grit and working our way up and the end result was pretty impressive. The end result looks the way we had intended when we originally poured the concrete.
